As of August 1st, Summer will be halfway over. It seems like it has only just begun. But before you go running to find your winter coats and prepare for colder weather, soak up the last of the summer rays in downtown Detroit. There is still so much to do in the city but time is running out on your summer bucket list. We have some ideas on how you can spend the next half of your summer.
Do you enjoy long walks? Try the Detroit International Riverwalk! This waterside path is three miles long and takes you along the picturesque Detroit River and Windsor on the opposite bank. The Riverwalk also has access to restaurants, parking, and internet access. Stay for the day and explore the beautiful Detroit Riverside.
If walking isn’t really your thing, rent a bike from Wheelhouse Detroit. Besides amazing bikes, Wheelhouse also offers a fun and informative guided bike tour of Detroit’s history. If you’re not into guided tours or pedaling, you can also rent Segways near the Renaissance Center. Explore the city or take a tour of Greektown, the theater district, and bustling Midtown. If your idea of a good time doesn’t exist on land, sign up for an amazing kayak tour and see all that Detroit has to offer from the water. Riverside Kayak Connection offers incredible guided tours along the Detroit River and all throughout the Eastside Canals.
